Valtatech Peppol Access Point Provider
Every year, more than 1.2 billion invoices are processed across Australia. These are a mix of Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Government (B2G) invoices. The majority of those invoices are sent either as paper invoices or as PDF invoices via email. These are costly ways to send, receive and process invoices. There is usually lots of manual data entry checks or validation needed for each invoice. Electronic invoicing (or e-invoicing) is the automated digital exchange of invoice information. Invoice data is sent directly between a buyer’s and supplier’s systems. This removes the need for any manual data entry or validation.
The ATO estimates that e-invoices are 66% cheaper to process than PDF invoices.
Many countries across the globe have adopted Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement OnLine). A globally recognised standard for sending e-invoices and e-orders. This standard enables anyone who is part of the network to send e-invoices and e-orders to each other. The standard provides a simple and accessible way for businesses to get connected.
How does Peppol e-invoicing work?
First suppliers and buyers send their invoices/orders to their Peppol Access Point. Then, the Access Point verifies the data on the invoice/order and sends it to the receivers Access Point. The receiver’s Access Point then sends the data into their finance system. Data is shared almost instantly without any manual data entry or validation needed.

How can a Peppol Access Point Provider help your business?
Onboard All your Suppliers
Through our service you connect once and you are connected to everyone in the network. You may have some trading partners who are not on the Peppol network yet. Part of our service is to help you onboard them, so you can enjoy the benefits with all your suppliers.
Reduce invoice processing time and save costs
eInvoicing delivers real value. No more manual entry. No more data corrections. No more chasing missing information. No more enquiries about invoices getting lost or forgotten. This frees up your team to focus on more value adding activities to grow your business. We’ve seen customers saving anywhere from 21% to 66% in invoice processing costs.
Eliminate Invoice Fraud
Invoice fraud is a growing, problematic issue for businesses of all sizes. We automate many checks to make sure you are paying a valid invoice including:
- We validate that the sender is who they say they are
- We validate that bank account details match your records.
All this happens before transmitting the data through the Peppol network. The network runs a number of checks as well and is highly secure. To access the network you need to be an accredited Peppol Access Point like Valtatech.
Access Point providers are required to meet strict security protocols equivalent to ISO27001. This includes intrusion prevention, multi-factor authentication and data encryption.
Improved Cash Flow
Businesses can be crippled when buyers pay them late. Invoices can get missed when they’re reliant on human intervention. Buyers can miss out on early payment discounts if the invoice is lost or not processed quickly.
E-invoicing speeds the whole invoice processing piece up for both sides. It removes the worry of whether an invoice has been received and processed or not. In Australia, Commonwealth government agencies offer 5 day payment terms for eInvoices.
