- MINISTRY OF BUSINESS, INNOVATION & EMPLOYMENT (MBIE), THE NEW ZEALAND PEPPOL AUTHORITY, HAS MUTUALLY RECOGNISED VALTATECH’S PEPPOL ACCREDITATION FROM AUSTRALIA TO PROVIDE PEPPOL SERVICES IN NEW ZEALAND
- THE MBIE ACCREDITATION ENABLES VALTATECH TO BRING ITS SOURCE TO PAY EXPERTISE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS TO MAKE PEPPOL E-INVOICING ACCESSIBLE TO ALL BUSINESSES ACROSS NEW ZEALAND
MELBOURNE – Monday 10th May 2021 – Financial process automation experts, Valta Technology Group (Valtatech), announced its accreditation for Peppol services by the Australian Peppol Authority, ATO in record time recently. Valtatech’s Peppol accreditation from Australia has been now mutually recognised by the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE), New Zealand’s Peppol authority. This allows Valtatech to expand its Peppol services across New Zealand. The accreditation combined with Valtatech’s source to pay automation expertise provides businesses across New Zealand with an affordable and accessible way to reap the benefits of Peppol e-invoicing.
New Zealand has aligned with Australia for e-invoicing and adopted the globally recognised standard Peppol for the national e-invoicing framework which can saves the New Zealand economy $4 billion a year. This standard enables anyone who is part of the network to easily and safely, exchange e-invoices and e-orders etc. with anyone on the network. There are already 200,000+ businesses across 34+ countries on the Peppol network and this continues to grow. It is expected that 80% of New Zealand businesses will adopt Peppol e-invoicing by 2025.
Peppol e-invoicing works by sending invoices from the sender’s accounting system to the certified Peppol Access Point. The Access Point verifies the data on the invoice and then sends it on to the receivers certified Access Point which transmits the data into the receiver’s accounting system. This means that data is shared almost instantly into the receiver’s system without any manual data entry or manipulation required. This helps businesses to overcome the current challenges of onboarding, high invoice processing costs and invoice fraud.
The New Zealand government is working on a plan for government agencies to pay the suppliers within 10 days if invoiced via Peppol and has also recently conducted research on options for mandatory adoption of Peppol e-invoicing by the government agencies and businesses.
Valtatech has already been providing a range of services such as accounts payable automation, robotic process automation, Integration as a service, Transformation services, supplier onboarding and AI backed PDF e-invoicing solutions in the market and is now pairing its newly launched Peppol eInvoice access point service with a range of these solutions to provide a cost effective and simple way for businesses of all sizes to reap the benefits of Peppol e-invoicing.
Jussi Karjalainen, Founder and Managing Partner of Valtatech, says: “We are pleased to get our Peppol accreditation recognised by the New Zealand Peppol authority, MBIE. We look forward to make e-invoicing a success in New Zealand with our go to market partner Cumulo9 through our cost effective Peppol e-invoicing offering for organisations of all sizes and types.”
